Appalachian Heritage Festival
Presented by the Northeast Tennessee Master Gardeners
Sign on Highway 75
If you missed the 2019 Appalachian Heritage Festival, you missed a fun event!
We had over 40 vendors, expert-led gardening classes, great music, storytelling, lots of door prizes, and delightful activities for children.
While some adults were taking advantage of the home gardening classes, kids were playing in the giant sandbox, tossing bean bags in corn hole games, petting the “baby” animals, or munching on treats from the hot dog stand.
Everyone left with a Plum Granny plant to add to their garden as a reminder of Appalachian culture and heritage.
“Ask a Master Gardener” for plant advice and information on how to become a Master Gardener (Note two Plum Granny plants on the table)
