NORTHEAST STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE GARDENS TO DEGREES
Northeast State Community College Gardens to Degrees is on the Blountville campus and consists of 30 raised beds. This program is led by Reece Barringer and Jim Henrichs and was began to teach students how to grow healthy food and to improve their level of nutrition.
We started these gardens in 2012, and have been very pleased with the program as instruction for students. It is a sweat equity program, if the students work in the gardens, they take home fresh, organic, local food for their families.
We need Master Gardeners to help with instruction on planting, disease and pest prevention, and to help with year round plans.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
